Visit Rebekah's Page to get updates, read messages and send messages to Rebekah and her family through comments. This is a public "diary" of a family whose little girl started a battle with inoperable cancer in April 2005. In December 2007 our house burned down. And in September 2009 Mommy was diagnosed with a terminal disease (a genetic form of ALS) that took her to Heaven in July, 2011, leaving Daddy and two young girls to make it on their own. Over several years of ups and downs, you will get into our hearts, minds and souls as we share joys and sorrows. It can sometimes be very difficult to read. We hope it is also uplifting. Please find joy in what you read here.

Emergency Fever

12:45am.  Rebekah has a fever.  103.  Although this is not super high for a regular kido this is critical for a chemo patient.  They are drawing more cultures in blood and urine.  Please be praying for some resolution here.  This may be what has been causing her to be irritable earlier.

And to top it all off Blogger is down.  We TOTALLY feel stranded!  Will publish this when we can.

Father,
Please give the Dr's wisdom for Rebekah's needs. Lead them to the problem causing the fever. Prevent them from doing the wrong things. Continue to strengthen Rebekah and her parents. Please hear the many calls to You and rescue them from this trouble. May Scott and Frances find peace in your Word and comfort in Your promises. May You continue to answer the many prayers, according to Your Will. In Jesus' precious Name - Amen

Father,
Once again you bring this family to our hearts. Thank you that you give your children hearts for each other. Lord You know so well the needs of Rebekah, You know her body because You created it, You know the reasons behind this fever and Your healing touch can bring it down. Lord I humbly ask that You restore this precious child, Lord give mommy and daddy back their joyous little girl. We know that You can do this and we ask that You move in this way. Lord give rest and strength to mommy. My heart aches for her. Lord when she is at the end of herself, let her never doubt that she can draw from Your neverending wealth of strength. Calm her heart and her soul with Your comfort and words. Lord, be with daddy as he stands as the head of this family. Lord strenghten this man as he watches (sometimes helplessly) his wife and daughter. Give both mommy and daddy wisdom and discernment for all the decisions they face. Let Your peace and the firm conviction of Your will be wrapped around them as they make decisions that many of us cannot even fathom making. Lord, I ask that you touch baby sister and let her see the faith of her parents, the faith of her big sister, and Lord let this little girl know from an early age that her Heavenly Father is true and good as she sees Him working in the lives of her family. Lord let us not forget for a moment this family, bind them to our hearts, keep them everpresent on our minds. Thank you for the grace you give us that we may surround them in prayer.

God, again we come to you with requests on behalf of Rebekah. Lord, her fever is of grave concern to us. Please, Lord, see her through this. Lower her fever, allow her to receive the treatments she needs, and always, Lord, always hold her precious body, mind and soul in your gentle, loving hands.

Continuing to pray throughtout this day...

Our prayers continue to be lifted to the Lord for Rebekah and her family. We pray, too, for the doctors, so that they may be guided to find the cause of the fever and the appropriate treatment.

My son had fever for three out of his four cycles of high dose chemotherapy, it's a special concern with stem cell transplants.

They were all over it at the hospital, cultures, then IV antibiotics.

Blood transfusions, particularly platelets can also cause a fever.

I'm sending my prayers that they can get this under control right away.
