Thursday's Blood Counts
Rebekah is home from her trip the hospital for blood tests and counts.
White Blood Count (*Not Available) (Normal 4.5-17.0)
Red Blood Count 3.75 (Normal 3.8-5.4)
Platelet 191 (Normal 140-440)
(Her hemoglobin and hemocrit were also still low).
The percentage/ratio that is most important is called ANC and has some important ranges: Above 1000 is pretty good and safe for her to be out and about (or go to school). Below 500 means she needs to stay home and away from the public at large and anything that could get her in trouble sick/infection wise. Below 200 means everything possible must be done to keep her safe. Today Rebekah's number is 180.
They are not requing a transfusion at this point but every day that goes by means these counts are getting lower and lower. It is highly possible that she will have to stay for a transfusion at the next visit.
*We don't have a reason why the WBC was not available (as it has to be to determine the ANC) but it didnt come back on her blood report.
Rebekah is still fighting eating most of anything.

I just have to share something about how awesome God is --just in case anyone reading this is wondering whether or not He's awesome! Our daughter, Olivia (she will be three in June) prays every day for Rebekah. We have shown her your family photo on the internet and she knows all of your names and remembers to pray for each of you --including "teeny, tiny baby Sarah". Sarah's name in all of Olivia's conversations is "teeny, tiny baby Sarah"... Anyway - yesterday and the day before, Olivia has been sick with a mild fever and upset stomach. Because she hadn't been feeling very well - we did not get a chance to read Rebekah's updates yesterday regarding her mouth sores. BUT...listen to this..(or rather, read this...) Yesterday, while I was holding Olivia, she said to me, "Mommy, my mouth has a booboo." I then asked her if she still had a sore throat. Her reply, "Mommy, we really need to pray for Rebekah because her mouth has a booboo too." She then took my hands and said, "Dear Jesus, please help Rebekah's booboo in her mouth feel all better. Amen". Now remember...we had NO idea that Rebekah had developed these sores! So ---our INCREDIBLE God is using the unwavering faith of His smallest children to cover Rebekah in prayer! There just is no way that we could ever know how He is working in this situation! I continue to rejoice and pray - BELIEVING that Rebekah is going to get through this and her life is going to be a shining testimony of God's wondrous healing power, mercy, love and grace! We're continuing to pray for you daily. God bless you!

What an awesome accounting of God's love for Rebekah, coming from Olivia. Oh that we could all be so loving and trusting. Aren't we told to come to Him like children come to their fathers? Amazing example!
Scott, you are all in our prayers!
