This is a public "diary" of a family whose little girl started a battle with inoperable cancer in April 2005. In December 2007 our house burned down. And in September 2009 Mommy was diagnosed with a terminal disease (a genetic form of ALS) that took her to Heaven in July, 2011, leaving Daddy and two young girls to make it on their own. Over several years of ups and downs, you will get into our hearts, minds and souls as we share joys and sorrows. It can sometimes be very difficult to read. We hope it is also uplifting. Please find joy in what you read here.

Oliver

Grandma A came over to help today; that was nice and very very helpful. But nothing right now seems that important in our lives.

Please pray for Oliver and his family.

I will never be able to totally understand why God allows such innocent children to suffer. Yet even as I type this, I remember how God allowed His own Son to suffer and take the sin of the world on His shoulders. God had a plan. It included suffering and sorrow - unjust and unfair - but God had a plan - an amazing plan that we all would be lost without. And I know with all my heart, that even though I don't understand why some children get sick and others don't, that God has a plan. And He is watching over us always - even in those days when we don't seem to sense His presence. He is there.

I only get a glimpse of the suffering of these children thru your blog and that is heavy enough on my heart. It has to be tough to be so close to them. God be with you and them in grace and mercy.
