This is a public "diary" of a family whose little girl started a battle with inoperable cancer in April 2005. In December 2007 our house burned down. And in September 2009 Mommy was diagnosed with a terminal disease (a genetic form of ALS) that took her to Heaven in July, 2011, leaving Daddy and two young girls to make it on their own. Over several years of ups and downs, you will get into our hearts, minds and souls as we share joys and sorrows. It can sometimes be very difficult to read. We hope it is also uplifting. Please find joy in what you read here.

Good/Bad News

As always there is good news and bad news.  The good is that good friend Connie came over and mommy and daddy were able to actually get away for about 2 hours and go out to eat.  It wasn’t home cooked but being able to be together in some situation other than passing in a hospital room was really nice.

The bad news is that Rebekah’s fever is back.  We just drew blood and will be sending it down for more lab tests to try and find out what is growing there.  That means 48 hours more, at least before we can leave.  Saturday is looking like it might maybe could be the earliest without a miracle.  We are always ready for a miracle.

Over all Rebekah continues to not feel well, have low immune system counts and be “evacuating” from both ends.  Poor little girl (mommy) and Rebekah has it tough too!

Thank you for your support, it’s the lowest times like these that we need it more than anything.

Almighty Father, fill Rebekah's room with your awesome presence. Immersing her body with your healing power. Meet every need of every member of her family. They are weary Lord, grant them rest and comfort in mind and body. I trust you Lord to be their everything.Thank you for hearing the prayers of so many on their behalf. Your promises stand true and we continue to wait on you.

I just read this only moments ago. I'm posting it for you. It's powerful. And it's true. God is still on the throne.
Still in control.
Still holding Rebekah in the palm of His hand.
Still knows every detail and every working of every cell in her body.
His truth will prevail - He will get the glory. Rebekah will shine for Him. He has not forsaken her...and loves her even more than you do (can you even imagine that?!---because I KNOW that you love her more than life.) Praying continually...

PSALM 121

I will lift up mine eyes upon the hills
from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the Lord, which
Made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved;
He that keepeth thee will not slumber,
Behold, He that keepeth Israel shall
neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is thy keeper, the Lord is thy
Shade upon thy right hand.
The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor
the moon by night.
The Lord shall preserve thee from all
evil; he shall preserve thy soul.
The Lord shall preserve thy going out
and thy coming in from this time forth, and
even for evermore.

....praying for a night of sweet rest for all.
In Him,
Deb

Sweet Lord, You are a God of miracles both large and small. We pray and ask that You work miracles in the lives of this family. If it is just the relief of the fever or if it is the removal of this cancer, we will praise Your works as mighty and good. Please wrap Your arms around this mommy and daddy and let them feel the closeness of Your presence.
