This is a public "diary" of a family whose little girl started a battle with inoperable cancer in April 2005. In December 2007 our house burned down. And in September 2009 Mommy was diagnosed with a terminal disease (a genetic form of ALS) that took her to Heaven in July, 2011, leaving Daddy and two young girls to make it on their own. Over several years of ups and downs, you will get into our hearts, minds and souls as we share joys and sorrows. It can sometimes be very difficult to read. We hope it is also uplifting. Please find joy in what you read here.

"Not A Good Night"

"Not a good night..." says mommy from the room.  Rebekah was up every hour (at least) screaming for mommy and throwing up multiple times.  We are not sure exactly what is going on but she is going in for a chest x-ray this morning.  Actually the x-ray is coming to her so she does not have to leave the safety of her room.  On a good note the fever appears to be done.  We will remove her from the Tylenol this morning to see if it is truly down or artificially down.

I read your blog every day, sometimes twice for updates and want you to know we are praying for all of your family. Some years ago, one of our sons was ill for 4 years, though he was older (19). We can understand some of what you are going through watching your little Rebekah go through so much. God is faithful--His grace is sufficient.
In love, Ron and Barb Vander Veen
