Visit Rebekah's Page to get updates, read messages and send messages to Rebekah and her family through comments. This is a public "diary" of a family whose little girl started a battle with inoperable cancer in April 2005. In December 2007 our house burned down. And in September 2009 Mommy was diagnosed with a terminal disease (a genetic form of ALS) that took her to Heaven in July, 2011, leaving Daddy and two young girls to make it on their own. Over several years of ups and downs, you will get into our hearts, minds and souls as we share joys and sorrows. It can sometimes be very difficult to read. We hope it is also uplifting. Please find joy in what you read here.

?

I wish that I could write up how things have been going much better today but they have not.  We have not been able to figure out what is continuing to upset her and are now starting to put her on sedation to see if that helps.  She starts with a little cough which then causes enough irritation that she throws up and hurts a lot.  On top of all of that the antibiotics are causing diarrhea.  Over all she is not a real happy camper.

She asked for daddy this morning and it was such a relief to be able to drop everything that I was doing and run over to her room and spend a few minutes with her.  I can’t imagine how difficult that would have been to be an hour or more away.  The down side of it is that I have some clients that didn’t get to meet with me and some others that are coming to the trailer this afternoon in the hospital parking lot.  Not exactly sure what kind of image that is going to give but they have been well prepared for it.  I had to clean the trailer up too – is that a good thing or a bad thing???

Please continue to pray for clarity on what is causing Rebekah’s problems as neither we nor the doctors have any clue at this point.

I was pulled aside on Sunday by my son's Sunday school teacher, her class consists of 3 & 4 year olds. She said that she asked the children if there were any prayer requests and my son, Nathaniel, put up his hand and told the class about Rebekah. Thankfully, his teacher reads the blog and knew who Rebekah was, and so every little person bowed their head in prayer for her.

I stand in agreement with the prayers of the Juengel family and say to the enemy - Take your grubby hands off of Rebekah - you have NO business with her - for she is a Child of the MOST HIGH GOD! Her life belongs to the Lord - not to you! I say - leave her alone - in Jesus' Name! God's Word tells us that if any of us lack wisdom, to ask for it and it will be given. Right now, I pray that the Lord will impart Supernatural wisdom to the medical staff as they care for Rebekah. I pray that all of the intricate pieces of this puzzle will fall into place and that they are able to effectively treat her so that her condition greatly improves. I pray for strength for Scott, Frances, Sarah and all of Rebekah's family, friends and caregivers. May God impart His strength upon you so that you will have the energy needed to care for Rebekah and Sarah's every need. I also pray for the "day to day" stuff of taking care of home and work --Father, please make a way where there seems to be no way and meet EVERY need - physical, emotional and financial. Work out every detail with regards to scheduling --whether it be juggling a sitter for Sarah --or maintaining Rebekah's meds or working out the logistics of Scott's client meetings. I thank you for all that You have done in and through Rebekah and her family thus far and look forward to all that remains to be done. In Jesus' Name, Amen!
....praying continually here in PA,
Deb, Randy and Olivia
