This is a public "diary" of a family whose little girl started a battle with inoperable cancer in April 2005. In December 2007 our house burned down. And in September 2009 Mommy was diagnosed with a terminal disease (a genetic form of ALS) that took her to Heaven in July, 2011, leaving Daddy and two young girls to make it on their own. Over several years of ups and downs, you will get into our hearts, minds and souls as we share joys and sorrows. It can sometimes be very difficult to read. We hope it is also uplifting. Please find joy in what you read here.

Another Rough Night

I guess we have pretended that things were going to be fine for this weekend for long enough. Rebekah's infection on her tummy is getting worse. I won't give you the details but it is pretty gross. We may very well be heading back to the hospital with her and mommy is worried about being admitted

Sarah woke up this morning crying and when daddy went in to see her her tummy and throat were making "noises". VERY quickly thereafter you can imagine what came next. Doc's office says Sarah can expect this for 3 more days.

Ugh.

All of this said, last evening was Great. Friend LaDonna and all of her kiddos came over and watched the girls so mommy and daddy could go out to eat for dinner and do some shopping for camping...oh well. Dinner was GREAT just the two of us. Amazing how wonderful a simple dinner can be. Hopefully LaDonna's kids don't get infected by Sarah. We SO thought everything was getting better.

Thank you all so much for the wonderful comments. They have been real helpful.

Tennessee loves ya! and we pray for all of you. Some days the only thing I do on the computer is check on your family and take time to pray for you. We know first hand the struggles and joys, the ups and downs of life with children who have illness. We are Foster parents/adopted parents of medically fragile children. We spend our life giving children a safe loving home for as long as they need us. So we understand your daily feelings. Inside of every bad day we have learned to find the little "special moments". Our family has done this for 23 years now. We went from Daddy and Momma to Grampa and Gran. But God helps each of us each day as we give to the special needs of these little angels. Please know that we are here even if we fail to write. Ok? You are so loved and so cared for! May God wrap His loving arms around you and hold you real tight!

I tried last night to leave you a comment and blogger wouldn't let me. I had wanted you to know that I am always thinking of you and that I must confess that I will sometimes read your blog but not comment. I seem to get side-tracked lately but will make a greater effort to leave a comment from now on so that you know that I am thinking of you, care about all of you, and wish you great happiness & health. It is good to hear that you got to go out to dinner and have some time to yourselves, that is so important.
I hope that Rebekah doesn't have to be admitted and can heal at home and that Sarah is feeling better real soon.
Big Hugs from us to all of you! :)
