This is a public "diary" of a family whose little girl started a battle with inoperable cancer in April 2005. In December 2007 our house burned down. And in September 2009 Mommy was diagnosed with a terminal disease (a genetic form of ALS) that took her to Heaven in July, 2011, leaving Daddy and two young girls to make it on their own. Over several years of ups and downs, you will get into our hearts, minds and souls as we share joys and sorrows. It can sometimes be very difficult to read. We hope it is also uplifting. Please find joy in what you read here.

Lots of Thank You's Today

It was a bit of a hectic day. Rebekah and Mom headed into Radiation while Sarah stayed with Daddy. Sarah slept until a little before 9am and Rebekah and Mom were home by about 8:30.

Rebekah wanted pancakes for breakfast. She sat in Sarah's chair while Mommy got them going. She didn't want anything to eat while she waited and sat pretty patiently. Mom got her plate ready and set it on the highchair tray and then she started fussing. She didn't want it. When the next batch was done, mom put them on a different plate and Rebekah wanted those ones. She also wanted to sit in Mommy's lap to eat them. Mom obliged her. We sat at the table with two plates in front of us. After eating one or two of the pancakes off Mom's plate, she took all the pieces off her plate and put them onto Mom's plate. Then she ate them too. She ate about 6 pancakes (about 3" each). Sarah ate two of them herself.

About 11 am, she said she was hungry and wanted an egg. Mom made her an egg, but she wouldn't touch it and insisted that she wanted to go night night. She has been taking lengthy naps and today was no exception.

We had a number of visitors and lots of help today. Anna from Our Place Church brought us a meal at lunch time. Ginger brought two of her boys out who washed the outside of all our windows while she watched the girls so Mom could rest and she did some dish washing. Ginger brought a few meals that she had prepared for us as well as some that Jessica had prepared for us. Rebekah ate up a bunch of the corn Ginger brought. Grandma A came out and helped get Rebekah to eat dinner and helped get her ready for bed. Then she took Sarah home with her for the night. She will bring her back tomorrow. Thanks to everyone!

We have a number of family members who will be coming this weekend from out of town to help get some things done around the house as a work party. There will be some work done and some visiting, too. It will be great to have everyone here.

Please keep up the prayers for increase in appetite and protection from the side effects of the radiation.

So glad that you have so much help with everything from family and friends in OR! He does supply our needs!.....Phil. 4:19 "And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus." (might as well read all of Philippians if you can)

Love to all, Jodi in OH
