This is a public "diary" of a family whose little girl started a battle with inoperable cancer in April 2005. In December 2007 our house burned down. And in September 2009 Mommy was diagnosed with a terminal disease (a genetic form of ALS) that took her to Heaven in July, 2011, leaving Daddy and two young girls to make it on their own. Over several years of ups and downs, you will get into our hearts, minds and souls as we share joys and sorrows. It can sometimes be very difficult to read. We hope it is also uplifting. Please find joy in what you read here.

A Beautiful Sight

As yesterday's post stated, Rebekah did eat some yesterday which is truly an answer to prayer. As I was walking by her the sight below was so joyful to me - the mess, or at least what was causing it - so I wanted to share it with you.

What doesn't show very well is that the crumbs covered her head to toe. It looked like she was starting to grow back peach fuzz hair as she had yellow crumbs completely covering her head.

You may notice the high chair. Not normal for a 3 1/2 year old and Rebekah had been out of it for more than a year but she is seriously regressing in a lot of ways. Trauma and life impact can do that to a child. It is difficult to watch but we are dealing with it; especially if it will encourage her to eat.

The last couple of days we have been helped A LOT which is so uplifting. Friend Sarah came and stayed with us a day (in fact Sarah made the muffins Rebekah is eating in the picture.) We received several calls of encouragement from Beaverton Christian Church which is where Sarah and her family go. Debbie and her daughter helped out at the hospital. Shari and her son Andrew came by and mowed and did some much needed weeding. And finally several couples from Our Place Church brought by some meals. Most of the time it is not glorious exciting stuff, just a little bit of help to get through the day-to-day normal house running stuff but very needed. We wish we could put in words how much every little bit of help makes life that much easier.

How wonderful !!!! Days like this help a little to get through the days that are not as good. I am still praying for more "Good" days and am blessed by the little prayers I see being answered each time I read through the blogs, again I thank you for the time and effort it takes to keep us informed .............

What a precious picture. That she can still smile, giggle, and laugh through it all is a blessing!
It made my heart happy to see her smiling...may you be blessed too!
