Visit Rebekah's Page to get updates, read messages and send messages to Rebekah and her family through comments. This is a public "diary" of a family whose little girl started a battle with inoperable cancer in April 2005. In December 2007 our house burned down. And in September 2009 Mommy was diagnosed with a terminal disease (a genetic form of ALS) that took her to Heaven in July, 2011, leaving Daddy and two young girls to make it on their own. Over several years of ups and downs, you will get into our hearts, minds and souls as we share joys and sorrows. It can sometimes be very difficult to read. We hope it is also uplifting. Please find joy in what you read here.

Prayers and Thank You

Update - 10:28am. We are sitting at the hospital waiting. Rebekah is under scans right now. We had a nurse that we have had many times - Gerri - and that is awesome. She really did not believe us when we asked that Rebekah NOT have gas and that she actually do an IV before Rebekah was out. The IV is MUCH less tramatic to Rebekah than having the mask on her face. Gerri did a great job with the IV and afterward agreed that Rebekah did better that way. Its frustrating waiting, not knowing, waiting another three months etc. But at this point, we are very blessed to be able to be waiting and not knowing!

A quick pic of Sarah by the "water" as we wait. This is one of the girls favorite places in the hospital:

Thank you for the comments, this is still a difficult "row to hoe" sometimes and, especially for mommy your comments are very encoraging and help make it through the day with some positive spirit.

We are up early and off to the hospital where Rebekah gets yet another IV, Sedation, MRI, CT Scan, and ??? We could really use your prayers. A quick related cute note - last night as we were getting ready for bed, Rebekah wanted to wear her "hospital jammies" (the gowns they give Patients to wear...). That is fine and she has a few pairs of them except each hospital has their own and she really wanted to wear the ones from the "other" hospital, OHSU, which is in competition with our main hospital where we are going today. Mommy had to really work to talk her into her Emanuel ones since she will wear them throughout the day today.

Also wanted to let you know that I check in almost daily, but rarely leave comments. So sorry!

Wish your trip was bringing you closer to GA.

Hi, Prayers coming your way. There are many who are "silent" but perpetually concerned for you and your family. I think of you often and check the blog nearly daily for any updates. As a fellow parent dealing with cancer - just keep on keeping on! Wishing you guys the best on your upcoming trip. Tell Scott hi for me. In His Peace, Mark (McKenna's dad)

I check up on Rebekah almost everyday, but like many others don't comment very often. I thought it did not matter what I had to say since I am a stranger to you anyway. I was wrong and will try to comment more often. I guess we never really know how much of an encouragement we can be or how God can use us in another persons life. We pray for your family often and hope these latest test show all clear, no problems for sweet Rebekah!

I LOVE the picture of Sara. It's going on my bulletin board along with their Christmas photo. Praying for you today with all you have to do - and that Rebekah gets through her tests. "Aunt" Annie

Hello!
We're still praying and thinking of you continually here in PA!

Olivia is counting the days when she gets to finally meet Rebekah and Sarah. She is SO excited!

We won't be able to be at the big party in Columbus --but are planning to visit with you at Ken and Lori's while you're there.

We are looking forward to spending some time with you and praying with you - in person - for a change!!

Until then...our prayers continue!
Randy, Deb and Olivia

I still check in as often as I can. I don't always comment though. Been a busy time for me this school year.

Rebekah and your family are in my thoughts daily.
